First off, sorry to hear about your dad, Ed. It sounds like you’ve had a good support network in place, one which you didn’t necessarily expect. Sounds like it has been helpful.

You guys were right on when you opened by talking about the sheer volume of covers and remixes out there. You didn’t play anything I’d heard before, which was awesome! There were so many great tracks here, but my favorites were Super Buck Jazz, Vampire Snap 2, and Antitrust. Wicked jams.

I hope you guys have listened to the “Be Aggressive” Gunstar Heroes OCR album. The whole thing is top-notch, and there are quite a few tracks that I listen to regularly.

The other thing Ed touched on peripherally was remixes/covers done on different old-school hardware. By far my favorite is Savaged Regime, who is an absolute beast on the YM2612. He just finished re-doing the whole Mega Man X soundtrack for the Genesis, which you can download as .vgm files. Even better is his version of Ken’s theme from SFII. Better still is Simon’s Theme from Super Castlevania IV, which I like as much as the SNES version. That’s saying a lot, considering that OST is in my top 4 game soundtracks of all time. Listen to it, and then check out his other stuff: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm7sT87AXFA

……Oh, and I am SO looking forward to more Follin.

    • Savaged Regime is AMAZING. His FM work is some of the best out there, and he can translate SNES and other game music to it flawlessly. Be Aggressive was pretty good, though I’m not a big fan of Hanzawa so I wasn’t that familiar with the source material. Thank you for the kind words! 🙂

      -Ed
